Queen Makeda was so impressed with Solomon that she converted to Judaism and provided Solomon with many gifts. Before Makeda returned home, the two had a son together. In response, he sent Makeda home but told her to send their son back to Jerusalem when he came of age to be taught Jewish lore and law. Makeda did as she was told and sent Menilek I, their son, to Jerusalem to be taught by Solomon, who offered to make him the prince of Jerusalem. However, Menilek declined and instead returned to Ethiopia, anointed by his father and God to be the king of Ethiopia.

I decided that I wanted to check out a church that uses a liturgy, or at the very least sacraments. I found the nearest Orthodox church it was Coptic and walked in a few minutes late; I was still earlier than the priest. I immediately began to appreciate icons, as my eyes wandered a lot and between the arabic and the smells and the icons my mind was constantly returned to what was at hand. My favourite part was when they gave me a book and told me to read a few pages, as I had something to really focus on now.
As I read the book the readings were Psalms 28, 29, 33, 40 , the background chants and the smell of incense really brought me into the moment. I also noticed that children were involved at the front with the readings and such, which is a lot better than just sending them off to Sunday school.

Oxford In this study, I have chosen the doctrine of deification with its three subcategories of creation I am focusing on these three areas of study, largely because they are interrelated; particularly, the first emphasis is connected to my second focus, much the same as the second leads to my third emphasis. Thereby, these three topics are dependent on each other and are each essential in understanding how they all work together to illustrate the Alexandrian theology of deification.
I begin with Clement of Alexandria because he is the earliest patristic witness to have directly written on deification. Origen, who contributes significantly to this notion, follows and adds an exegetical approach to the Scriptural reference of deification on Psalm By the next century, Athanasius shifts the focus of deification primarily on the incarnation event, in which he established his renowned expression, God became man so many may become like God.
